Theater (Period 3A)

Course Description

The goal of this class is to understand the elements and processes of theater, and acquire the confidence and skills needed to construct and carry out a performance. Theater is a hands on performance oriented class. Theater concepts and acting fundamentals will often be experienced through student written scenes, or scenes from a variety of published scripts. Students will have weekly opportunities to take what they learned and apply it in the theater setting.  Students will Study basic principles of acting, study character analysis,  explore the use of objectives, obstacles and choices within a scene, learn basic stage and rehearsal terms, learn about theater etiquette,  history of theater, play write studies and applications, and writing original works for live performances.
