Community Clean-Up Event

What:

The O’Farrell Middle School will host our first community clean-up event. Students are invited to take part in this community service activity to show our neighbors that we appreciate and value our community. Students will be assigned to pick up trash along the streets that surround our campus. Students will be supervised by a school staff member at all times.

When:
Saturday, November 4, 2017, 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m

Where:

Meet on the front lawn at O’Farrell at 8:30 a.m. Students will be provided
breakfast before being assigned to a team to clean up our neighborhood.

Requirements:

Turn in the permission slip to Mrs. Andersen by 8:00 a.m. on Friday,
November 3. Parents are more than welcome to join us as well; just let Mrs. Andersen know.

Homebase Olympics

Someone Like Me-Adolescent Bullying Awareness Program

We were excited to welcome the Kaiser Permanente Educational Theater presentation for our middle school students. Someone Like Me, an adolescent bullying awareness program, was presented to all sixth, seventh, eighth graders on Monday, October 23. Falcon Way Bingo

A game of Falcon Way bingo started as a way to encourage students to be good, contributing citizens in our school community. Students will earn yellow slips for bingo and a pass to the Falcon Way party for earning a “black-out” on their bingo card. Students may complete a new bingo card each month.

Middle School MESA Applications Available

Applications are now available for our MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) Club. Middle school students should see Ms. Su or Mrs. Davis for more information.
MESA provides a unique combination of enrichment activities, hands-on competitions, academic support, industry involvement and a supportive community environment. MESA is nationally recognized for its innovative and effective academic development program for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.
