  3. The new federal law, the “No Child Left Behind Act of 2001,” places rigorous standards on the minimum skills required of paraeducators who assist with instruction. Please attach evidence of one of the following:

    Completion of at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (completion of 48 college units, including coursework in reading, writing, and mathematics, may be considered)
    Possession of Associate’s Degree or higher
    Successful completion of the CBEST exam
    Successful completion of the district’s newly revised CAPE test (Tests taken prior to January 13, 2003 do not meet this requirement.)
