Mrs. Jope

Hello! My name is Kristen Jope and I have the wonderful privilege of teaching 3rd grade!

 

The 2022-2023 school year will be my 5th year teaching 3rd grade at The O'Farrell Charter School. I graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and have been teaching for a total of 11 years. After visiting San Diego 7 years ago, I decided it was too beautiful to leave, so I packed my bags and waved goodbye to Florida. If I'm not teaching, you can find me hiking or relaxing at the beach with my husband and my 1 year old baby girl!

 

This year, I am excited to see all the progress my students will make on their journey through 3rd grade. Starting from the first day of school, I work hard to set up a positive classroom environment where students feel safe to take risks and learn from their mistakes. By providing the appropriate tools, it is my goal that my students become problem solvers in the classroom and the real world. I am so grateful for all the support from the amazing families at O'Farrell that help me to achieve this.
