Hello, my name is Michelle Morrisey. I am stoked for the 2019-2020 school year and to teach 8th Grade Science, 6th Grade Physical Education and 8th Grade Physical Education.
Originally from Los Angeles, I moved down to San Diego to attend San Diego State University, where I majored in Foods and Nutrition. During my time in undergrad, I found as many opportunities to work with children as possible. Through my Student Nutrition Organization, I volunteer taught a Nutrition course to the 6th grade class at the Language Academy during the school year. Meanwhile during the summertimes, I worked as a watersports camp counselor, teaching children ages 6-17 to wakeboard, waterski, standup paddleboard, and sail. I found these experiences so rewarding that after completing my bachelor’s degree, I decided to return to San Diego State for my single subject credential in Science.
When I'm not teaching, I do my best to opt outside. My favorite hobbies include paddleboarding, hiking, beach volleyball, really anything that gets me outside and moving.
