About Mr. Pollard: I was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, before I moved to San Diego in 1997. When I was growing up, I loved reading comic books and novels, and I was blessed to have inspiring English teachers who fostered my love of stories, creative writing, and fun literary discussions. These experiences motivated me to earn a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and a teaching credential at San Diego State University. In 2009, I earned a Master's Degree in Education at National University and a National Board Certification in Early Adolescent English Language Arts. I have been teaching at O'Farrell since 2004, and I currently teach English and Digital Photography at the high school. As an English teacher, I encourage my students to read for pleasure, to develop their creative and academic writing skills, to increase their critical thinking ability, and to master language arts standards. In photography, I push my students to develop their artistic visions, blending an aesthetic and technical approach to the art. During my time off, I spend time with my mother, my wife, and my two daughters. My hobbies include going mountain biking, taking pictures, listening to music, watching baseball, playing pinball games, and of course, reading.
