Welcome Falcons to Mr.Lerma's Page! | Bienvenidos Falcones a la pagina de Mr.Lerma!

Hello y'all! My name is Mr. Hector Lerma and I wear many different hats at The O'Farrell Charter School. I teach the following subjects:
  • 7th Grade Homebase
  • 7th and 8th Grade AVID
  • 7th Grade Science
  • REM Cycle

I am also one of the Co-Leads of the Homebase Committee where I represent the 7th Grade and hold the position as the P.E./Electives Department Chair.
A little bit about me:
I was born in Texas and moved to Tijuana at a young age. After my younger brother was old enough to learn English, my small family of 3 and I moved to San Ysidro where I graduated from San Ysidro High School in 2012 where I, too, was enrolled in AVID. Soon thereafter, I journeyed up to Los Angeles where I attended the best college in the world: University of California, Los Angeles and majored in Anthropology and minored in Theater. There I was a Front Desk Agent in Hedrick Hall and a Campus Tour Guide.
In 2016, I graduated from UCLA and joined Teach For America - San Diego, and joined my passion for providing all students  with an education they deserve to be successful and to achieve their dreams. I received my credential and I just finished my Master's of Education from National University in January of 2019.
I love listening to music! My favorite genres are Electronic Dance Music, Hip-Hop/Rap, and 80s Music. I have two Guinea Pigs named Galileo and Shadow who I love them so much!
