My name is McKenzie Taylor. I've been teaching since 2011, and I've been at O'Farrell since 2016.
I'm originally from Houston, Texas, and I lived there until I started college. I obtained my undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where I majored in English and Psychology, and minored in Spanish. I then earned my master's degree in teaching, along with my secondary English teaching credential, from Stanford University. I also recently earned my master's degree in English from Ohio University.
I taught for five years in South and East Los Angeles, where I built the skill set that I now utilize in my classroom at O'Farrell. I believe that every student is capable of achieving incredible outcomes if they are given the proper support and encouragement, and I look forward to creating the kind of classroom environment where students feel safe, loved, and encouraged to do their best.
This year, I have the pleasure of teaching English 9, English 12, Yearbook & Photojournalism, and AVID. The syllabus for each of my courses is below. Please take a look and contact me with any questions.
If there's ever anything I can do for you as a student, parent, or member of the O'Farrell community, let me know!
