Welcome to Advanced Physics!
Legend has it that it all began with an apple falling on someone's head. Fortunately, that apple landed on Sir Isaac Newton's head while he was daydreaming about something. What caused the apple to fall to the ground? Newton threw the apple, and it followed a curved path. Why? The sun, the Earth, the moon, and the stars are moving relative to each other - is there a connection to the falling apple? We feel, we see, we hear. That's all physics around us.
We can understand all of these, and much more, with our study of physics. We are also blessed to have a very powerful tool to work with: mathematics. In Advanced Physics, we will work with mathematical models to help explain and solve complex questions.
Physics is the foundation for many science and engineering fields, so we should know it well. You can also use the knowledge and skills learned from Physics for almost everything else. Most importantly, Physics is Phun! Let the journey begin.
