Integrated Mathematics III is a college preparatory course designed to incorporate and extend the accumulation of learning from Mathematics Integrated I and II. Throughout the course students will synthesize their function understanding in order to: solve exponential equations with logarithms, explore various function graphs and the effect of given transformations as well as determine how to model a function for a given situation. Students extend their knowledge of statistics from earlier courses to relate different types of data and probability distributions. Students develop an advanced understanding that rational expressions are governed by the same rules as rational numbers.Students further develop their understanding of Trigonometry, specifically the Law of Sines and Cosines by extending their understanding past right triangles to general triangles.Mathematics Integrated III is a college preparatory course which requires students to implement the Mathematical Practice Standards in conjunction with their mathematical content knowledge in order to further develop their abstract thought process as well as develop a coherent and logical method for problem solving. Students will be required to pull together and apply the accumulation of knowledge from Mathematics Integrated I and II in order to advance their understanding in the areas of functions, inferences and conclusions from data, application of trigonometry to general triangles and solving contextual problems.
