Welcome Message 2023-2024

Dear O’Farrell Families,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year.  As a school community, we are grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our students and families.  You are our inspiration and our purpose!   As I enter my third year as Superintendent of The O’Farrell Charter Schools, I have never been more proud.  I am proud of our hard-working students, our outstanding staff, and our supportive families.  If you are a returning family, thank you for your continued support.  If you are a new family we are thrilled you have chosen to join this very special place.  As always, we remain firmly committed to our longstanding and successful mission and vision which states the following:

The O'Farrell Charter School will achieve academic excellence, build strong relationships with students and families, and develop students with exceptional character.

Academic Excellence:

Academic excellence will be reached through a highly qualified and innovative staff who teaches to the highest standard in a safe learning community that enables students access to top colleges and careers.

Relationships:

Our dedicated staff will motivate students to succeed by building relationships with students and families and fostering unity between all stakeholders.

Character Development:

Staff will teach students to act with integrity, treat others with respect, be resilient in the face of obstacles, and take responsibility for their actions.

As a school community, we work to achieve this vision through programs and partnerships such as system-wide implementation of AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination); professional learning and collaboration with NCUST (National Center for Urban School Transformation); and membership in local, and state and national charter school advocacy organizations.  This commitment to our school vision combined with belief systems firmly grounded in equity principles helps to ensure students receive an exceptional educational experience in a safe and nurturing environment.  This year, we are also striving to further empower and elevate family voices through school-based Family Advisory Councils.   Information about these opportunities will be forthcoming from your school principal. I hope you will consider becoming involved.

I look forward to seeing and meeting many of you at events throughout the year.

Kind Regards,

Cindy Wagner
