Timothy Katzman

Timothy Katzman serves currently as the Director of Summer and Extended Programs at Francis Parker School. He assumed this position in late November 2009.

Previously, he worked in a number of roles with the San Diego Padres, joining the club in 1995 as a result of a sabbatical granted by The Hotchkiss School, a coeducational boarding school located in Lakeville, Connecticut. His sabbatical year included positions with the Stockton Ports, a California League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers and, the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League, Queensland, Australia, and finally, a stint with the San Diego Padres.

In June 1996, Katzman left teaching and coaching at Hotchkiss to accept a full-time position with the Padres. He fulfilled a number of roles, including Special Assistant to the President, Director of Fan Services, and finally, Director of Corporate Communications.

With the Padres, he provided oversight for the Padres' Minor League Affiliates Community Outreach Program and conceived and implemented a variety of educational initiatives in Najayo, Dominican Republic (near the Padres' Latin American training facility).

Katzman received his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College (Middlebury, Vermont) and completed his graduate work at the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, Minnesota). In addition to his work as a board member on the behalf of the O’Farrell Community School, he also volunteers as a squash instructor and tutor with Preuss School students at Surf City Squash.
