8th Grade Art (Period 7)

Welcome to the art studio! In this semester long course students will create projects that connect to big ideas and core curricular concepts. Our standards-based program helps students perceive their world artistically, express themselves creatively, understand art through history and culture, and make learning connections. Whether students use art as a visual narrative to convey the big ideas learned in social studies or the laws of science to create a visual masterpiece, students will learn to problem solve through art. Students will be exposed to a variety of media and techniques. In addition, there will be various opportunities for reading and writing in the art room as a way to increase literacy and meet the requirements of the Common Core State Standards.
