Hands United For Children: The O'Farrell Charter School

In reviewing its mission, Hands United for Children's Board of Trustees set the goal of assisting a domestic U.S. school to develop facilities and programs for less privileged children. A sideline discussion between soccer dads about education began the process of exploration leading to our selection of the The O'Farrell Charter School as Hands United for Children's domestic education project for 2012 and beyond.

The O'Farrell School's unique vision and situation fit perfectly into the goals of Hands United. Namely, they are determined to provide a top education to students who are frequently left behind in the American educational system. The elements which led us to select O'Farrell are as follows.

6th Grade Camp

Students leave for camp on Tuesday, November 13. Students must arrive by 7:45 a.m. packed and ready to go. All items must be labeled with the student's name. Medications must be kept in a separate clear "ziplock" bag. Any medications must have been submitted ahead of time with doctor's authorization with the camp paperwork.
Buses will return at noon on Friday, November 16. Please see the link for the recommended packing list from Cuyamaca Outdoor School.

UPDATE: Camp Dates Modified

Modified: Wednesday, November 14 – Friday, November 16

Students going to camp need to check-in at the Auditorium by 7:40am on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Students will remain at camp until 12:00 noon on Friday, November 16, 2018.

Parents of students going to camp are encouraged to pick-up their students at 12:00 noon on Friday from school.

Students that are not attending camp need to report to school at the regularly scheduled time to Room 203 to pick up their alternate class schedule.
