FANCY-Recruitment Meeting

FANCY is currently recruiting for new members. The group is open to middle school girls and is focused on leadership development. A zoom informational meeting is being held on January 27, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The group meets on Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. See the linked flyer for more information.

Student Supply Pick-Up

Pick up a bag of school supplies for your student. Pencils, lined & graph paper, highlighters, dry-erase markers, two independent reading novels, specific supplies for science classes, and the novel students will be reading during their language arts class this semester. Supply bags may be picked up in the school parking lot at the times below:
Thursday 1/21 - 7:30 - 9:00 AM
Friday 1/22 - 2:30-4:30 PM
Saturday 1/23 - 9:00 - 11:00 AM

Registration for 21-22

Current 6th and 7th grade families, it is time to register for the 21-22 school year. Check your email for Registration instructions from Principal. Andersen. The registration form is in the PowerSchool parent portal. Please call the school, or email registration@ofarrellschool.org if you need help with your PowerSchool access. The registration is due by 12/31/20.

Middle School Reopening Survey

Our team is continuing to work on a reopening plan to bring our students back on campus. As of now, we do not yet have a set date, but it is time for us to share more information about what being on campus will look like and to ask you to choose one of our two options for an educational program for the remainder of the school year. Please click the title for the link to the survey, or find the survey in your email from Principal Jill Andersen.

What do I do on Day 1?

1st Day of School-Wednesday, August 19, 2020

1) At 10:00 am, go to ofarrell.schoology.com
2) Use your O'Farrell email to log in.
3) Follow the instructions in the Log Into Schoology Conference video you received in your email. It is also on our Online/Distance Learning Plan Tab to the right. ---->
4) If you can't log in, email your homebase teacher.
5) If you need help, call the school office. 619-263-3009

Technology Distribution, Textbook Return, & Supply Pick Up

Drop off any books and pick up your supply bag at the following times:

Tuesday, Aug 11, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug 12, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This is a drive-through event. Please enter the school parking lot at 6130 Skyline Drive. All passengers in the car must wear a mask/face covering. The student does not need to be present.

New 6th Grade Students & any returning students who need a Chromebook & headphones:

Monday Aug 10, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug 11, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Friday, Aug 14, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Monday, Aug 17 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, Aug 18 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Technology is distributed in Room 101, on the front of campus, near the main office. Please remember to wear a mask/face covering and maintain six feet of distance from anyone not in your immediate family.

School Closure-Curriculum Plan

Parents, please refer to the new "School Closure-Curriculum Plan for Students" on the tab at the right side of our middle school page. This resource will help you support your child at home with their continued learning opportunities. Principal Jill Andersen also sent this information via email. If you did not receive the email, please contact our office to update your email address in our system or contact Mrs. Andersen at jill.andersen@ofarrellschool.org


We can still show our amazing school spirit, even though school is closed. Middle School families-spirit week details will be shared via email to parents and students. We hope you can still have some fun at home!!

Rocket Building

In honor of National Engineer Week, a team of ten engineers from Lockheed Martin provided a lesson on rockets. OCS Middle school students had the opportunity to learn about, build, and launch a paper rocket! Thank you to Lockheed Martin! Check out our Facebook page for pictures.
